Surface Panel Characteristics

customizable-11customizable-09Panel Material and Fabrication Methods

The exterior side surface panels for a Master Door are chosen based on desired appearance and the expected weather conditions they will experience.  Any panel material may be used for the interior side surface panels.

The characteristics for each of the surface panel materials are shown below.  A guide,  Read more -> Legendis provided at the bottom of this page to illustrate the Icons that represent panel material types and acceptable panel environment exposures.

marine-multi-layer-imageMARINE GRADE, MULTI-LAYER WOOD PANELS FLAT OR VERTICALLY MILLED PANELS – 8 MM (Approx. 5/16″) THICK
Marine grade multi-layer wood is very durable, with high resistance to humidity and salinity. These features make it an excellent choice for external exposure. The laminated wood layers are glued with heat and moisture resistant adhesives giving the wood exceptional strength and water resistance. Interior and Exterior applications.

wood-routed-imageSTANDARD AND MARINE GRADE, MULTI-LAYER WOOD ROUTED AND ENGRAVED PANELS – 12, 14 AND 18 MM (Typical 11/16″) THICK

Panels are fabricated with wood veneer and parallel fiber layers that are assembled using heat and moisture resistant adhesives. These panels offer excellent value compared to solid hardwoods, and provide outstanding durability when used in exterior exposures. Interior and Exterior applications.
